Please be aware that I did not design this kit so I can not really provide installation help and all info regarding that is in the github link below,as well as the video below. Please Note You will not be getting any 20 or 21 pin FFC cables with this kit, I plan to have these available in the near future.
This mod allows you to use an ODE such as the Fenrir or Phoebe and still keep your CD drive intact and switch between the 2 with a switch and using a jumper on the Switch PCB you can activate the CD drive by removing the SD card if you wish to not use a switch so there are some options the installer can use.
The kit includes cables for the supported ODE mentioned above and 20 pin and 21 pin drives, there is also a large switch included but in order to use it you need to cut out the small switch from the PCB which can be done with some sharp snips.
FOR FENRIR USERS!!! If you have issues getting your SD card to be read(possibly Phoebe users as well)on the SD Card PCB with Micro SD card edge please remove the resistors (R1-R6) on the board circled below. This is an issue we discovered recently and will be addressed in future revisions.
Below are some images of where to cut the switch out and how to solder on the Large Switch, be aware that it must be flush with the bottom of the PCB or as close as you can get it to fit in the 3D enclosure.
