Introducing the Pluto Lite GCVideo board, don’t let the name fool you this board is only lite in name and the removal of all non essential parts of the Pluto-IIx sold by knjn.com.
There is nothing wrong with the Pluto-IIx other than it’s price and it’s really a development board and was not designed specifically for the GCVideo firmware where this one takes the form factor from the Pluto-IIx for maintaining the same installation methods and use of the Flex PCB for easier install.
This Pluto Lite board has some TVS Diodes on the HDMI lines to protect electronic circuits from overvoltage and electrostatic discharge (ESD) events and moved all parts to one side of the PCB allowing there no possibility of parts touching the trimmed metal shield of the Game Cube required with this installation.
The Firmware on this board is also setup so that the Enhanced DVI options are already enabled saving the installer time from enabling them and having audio work right from the installation completion which with the stock firmware requires you to enter into the OSD menu to enable the feature.
All you need to do is remove the Digital Port and solder the Flex PCB on as shown in the video below.(It was filmed with the Pluto IIx before the development of this board)
THIS REQUIRES EXPERT SOLDERING EXPERIENCE AND PROPER TOOLS.
